Bluebikes is a public form of transportation serving the four municipalities of Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, Everett, and Somerville. Bluebikes initially launched in July of 2011 with just 610 bikes and 60 stations in Boston. In 2012 Bluebikes expanded to the three other municipalities in order to serve more people.
As a public bike share, Bluebikes has succeeded in establishing bike share in many diverse neighborhoods in the Metro Boston, including an expansive 2015/16 deployment into Roxbury and Dorchester.
We're proud to offer an income-eligible membership to residents of Boston; learn more about the low-income Bluebikes membership program.
